What is PM Shri School Scheme ?
PM SHRI School is a centrally sponsored scheme by the Government of India. The government takes this initiative to develop more than 14,500 PM SHRI Schools managed by the Central Government/State/UT Government/local bodies with KVS and NVS in which every student feels welcome to be educated, have a favorable environment and feels good experience while studying in the classes. It will not only nurture students in a way that they become engaged, productive, and contributing citizens in building an equitable, inclusive, and plural society but also help them to integrate themselves by learning the basic and advanced levels of modern technology like Robotics & AI which envisaged by the National Education Policy 2020. Over 2 Million students are expected to be part of this scheme and gain direct beneficiaries. PM Shri scheme will also promote understanding of various dimensions of the Quality of school education and inform Policy, Practice, and Implementation. The learning from these schools will be scaled up to other schools in the country. The scheme is proposed to be implemented over 5 years w.e.f. 2022-23 to 2026-27.
